Located in Toronto, Ontario Canada, JS Music Productions has been in business for about 30 years and recently incorporated in 1997.
It all began when CEO, Founder/Owner John Sigvaldason began teaching guitar in addition to his part-time career as a musician. After graduating from Grant McKewen Community College in Alberta (similar to Humber College here in Toronto), John continued to teach and entertain as a musician, on a regular full-time basis.
Shortly after moving to Toronto in 1986, John began teaching at a music school here in Toronto, while continuing to perform in bands and solo acts. He also expanded his musical activities to included disc jockey and karaoke services. Within a short period of time, through word of mouth and successful marketing, the business began prospering rapidly.
In 1992 John Sigvaldason met April Raye. Having administrative and computer skills as well being very talented musically, April began contributing towards the growth and development of the company. April and John had an inseparable partnership; the business began taking on a whole new shape, hiring employees, acquiring more and more contracts, developing favourable business relationships and essentially everything that goes into building a solid, professional business.
By 1997, the JS Music Productions was flourishing and required a business office from which to operate. At the same time, the studio office would serve as a location from which John could continue music instruction with his existing clients. This accomplished, we renovated the office space to our liking and acquired new equipment and instruments in which to furnish our teaching rooms and rehearsal space.
