| Is
Karaoke Still Popular? |
Yep, absolutely! In fact it's bigger than ever. With continuous
new songs released every month, Karaoke has passed the "fad"
stage and has become a favourite pastime which is woven into our
very culture of music. For some, it's just a night of entertainment
while for others, it's way to fantasize stardom or even pursue it!.
Probably the biggest factors that influence whether Karaoke singers
choose to frequent your establishment for karaoke-- and believe
us, this will make or break it for you... are the following:
- song selection (must have a variety and be current)
- sound quality & stage setup
- friendly karaoke hosts
- bar atmosphere staff and clientele
When you offer a night of fabulous entertainment, you will find
that even your clients who do not sing, will participate in the
enjoyment and enthusiasm of the karaoke kraze!

It Work? |
- Advertise & Promote
You can advertise your event in many ways depending on your budget.
We understand that you may not have thought of this aspect of
promoting entertainment, but don't worry - it's virtually painless
and cost effective.
- Posters - in-house posters are a great way to promote.
Don't assume everyone knows you are having Karaoke unless
you make it pointedly clear, i.e. in their face!
so to speak! Put them everywhere: washrooms, stairwells,
doorways, windows, staff lounges, etc.
- Flyers - pass them out in the neighborhood; schools
& universities, cafes, community centers, libraries, parks,
shopping malls, music stores (if they allow it).
We
can even help you with the artwork /
desktop publishing!
- Personal Invitations - everyone likes to be invited
somewhere! Create a personal invitation or hand out card-size
flyers to people you know.
- Charitable or Special Event - have a reason to create
a big event. This can kick-start your event or nightclub!
You can even call and invite the media if it is a worthy cause.
Make several announcements in newspapers and magazines. Call
a few local radio and T.V. stations. Call your local MP. Have
a guest of honour to open or co-host the event.
- Paid Advertising - if you have the budget, advertise
in newspapers, magazines and on radio, T.V. and web sites.
You can even advertise
with us!
- Web Site / Email / Calendar
- Web site - If you have your own Web site, be sure
to make the announcement visible. We will also be happy to
put a link on our site for nightclub owners who hire us for
regular karaoke shows. And if you don't have a Web site, we
will create a page on our site -- just for you! This way you
can still promote your entertainment
- Email & Newsletters - it is always a good idea
to maintain a database of your business contacts and customers.
In this way you can promote special events with very little
or no advertising cost. You can also provide a newsletter
or flyer listing your entertainment for the week / month.
Make copies available for your customers to pick up and take
home, if email is not a solution for you.
- Calendar - We provide a calendar of events to all
our customers. Singers love to know in what other bars we
provide karaoke, so they can go out on other days of the week.
We have an online web-based calendar
as well as a hard copy / printed calendar that we make available
at the shows. In this way your bar is listed on our calendar
for all to see - FREE of charge!
- Contests / Prizes / Giveaways
- Sponsors - most liquor and beer companies give bars
free T-shirts, mugs, caps, etc. to promote their product. You
can also find other sponsors willing to give you products for
your special event -- just ask!
- Beverage Specials - not exactly giveaways, but shooters
and drinks help promote what?....more drinking ...spending money...
more drinking...spending money...."Whoo-hoo, are we
having fun yet? Yeah baby, yeah! -- Hey bartender, how 'bout
another round for my friends!" ---You got the picture?
- Group Participation
- Prizes etc. - Sometimes it's difficult to get a crowd
enthusiastic if they are shy. You might even consider draws
/ prizes etc. Have a theme or contest.
- Hosting Skills - There are a number of ways a host
can help get others involved. It's always more fun in groups
... singles feel, well ... singled out! Some people might like
a lot of attention, but others do not. So we try to make it
fun for everyone!
- What Else Can We Do?
- Add DJ Music - sometimes event organizers are not
sure if they will get enough interested people to sing --
especially if they are trying Karaoke for the first time.
We can always supplement the show with DJ music in the event
there aren't enough singers. In fact, we also find that it
helps us in karaoke bars to play music or sound bytes between
songs to help alleviate "dead air space"
- Promote it! - the biggest mistake bar owners make
is not promoting their entertainment. (see #1 suggestion,
above). While we do have a good following of singers, it is
really up to the bar to promote the karaoke night. It might
take a few weeks to get it going - by that we mean, for the
word to spread around, but with proper marketing, it will
certainly bring in dividends!
- Profitable? Many bar owners also find that Karaoke
is one of their best - sometimes THE most profitable night
of the week for them. Many of our clients have been satisfied
with years of successful Karaoke shows provided by
us!

| Making
The Right Decision |
Make Inquiries
Make sure the entertainment
company you hire are actually any good! Visit one of their shows
to see them in action. Some people 'talk the talk' but don't
'walk the walk'. Ask for references or speak to club owners.
Know what you are getting into before you take the plunge.
We have a Mutual Interest
To a business owner or event organizer, you probably what to make
sure you will get your money's worth and/or make money. That can
only happen if the entertainment company you hire, has your best
interest at heart. We don't make money if you don't make money ...
we're not happy if you're not happy. From one business to another,
your bottom line is important to us and we want to make you
look good!
